In the year 2000, the United Nations (UN) drafted goals to end extreme hunger and poverty in the world, and to specifically promote education and health. These main goals were in 2015 further developed into 17 goals for sustainable development as part of the 2030 Agenda as a “plan to promote sustainable peace and prosperity and protect our planet”. Based on these “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs), poverty and hunger should be ended by 2030.

Newday Academy

Kindergarten and School Centre

The ambitious school project currently includes the Newday Kindergarten and the Newday Junior School (primary school) and is to include a boarding section and additional classes per school level in the future. The planned gradual expansion of the school infrastructure provides for a playground, cultivation areas, a kitchen, sanitary facilities, a dining room, a library, and an ecological laboratory. The project coincides with the following UN sustainability goals:

Afrinena

Orphanage and Gospel Choir

The aim is to significantly improve the living and housing situation of the children and their families from the slums in Kampala. This includes food, schooling, and medical care, as well as giving the more than 50 godchildren a home. Our heart project coincides with the following UN sustainability goals:

Defining Destiny

The focus of this project is on empowering women economically and raising awareness in society to improve the living conditions of women and girls. The women and their families are to be supported by means of individual self-help projects, the granting of microcredits and a series of workshops on health and hygiene. Bubembe Island Kids

Sustainable Living and Learning

Bubembe Island is one of the 84 Ssese Islands in Lake Victoria. The priority is to renovate the local school, the Lwabaswa Primary School. The focus of the project is on sustainability, education, and long-term help for self-help to create better living conditions and future opportunities for the islanders. In the future, sleeping quarters for boarding school students will be created and the infrastructure will be expanded with a view to an eco-village. This aligns with the following UN Sustainable Development Goals:

The Children of Bowa

Education and Health Care

Bowa is a village with no electricity or water, most of whose residents are subsistence farmers. Doctors and schools are far away, so medical care and access to education are among our main concerns in this project. A village or child sponsorship can help quickly and efficiently.
